The NZCT has awarded Paeroa BMX Club $5,000 for a 4WD motorbike to increase the quality of their facility. The grant will reduce the time needed for volunteers to maintain the track.
Spokesperson Bradyn Wistrand says, “This grant will increase participation and enable us to maintain our BMX track more easily and regularly using the latest equipment. It will mean we can continue delivering our sport programmes, while also meeting our health and safety obligations by providing a safe, rideable track that is available to everyone in the local community.”
“Paeroa L&P BMX Club has been running since the early 1980s. Covid has hit our membership numbers hard, but we have a great committee with strong team spirit and a passion for the sport that remains determined to see it succeed. We want to reach out to the community and increase our club numbers. Now we will be able offer a bike and a helmet to new riders or any kids that would like to have a go.”
