New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) has granted Motueka AFC $10,773 for two new portable goals helping the club protect its main pitches, use more training areas, and support its rapid growth.

Treasurer Tracey Heaven shared "Being a small, rural club, our grounds are shared with other sports, limiting goal availability. Portable goals mean football can be played year-round and will benefit schools and community groups."

Heaven adds, “It’s vitally important that the club provides quality equipment for our players, which in turn provides a quality football experience for all our members. Goals are obviously an integral piece of equipment, and these portable goals allow training and matches to be played on various areas that don’t already have goals. To play on areas away from the main pitches when conditions affect the grounds means the match pitches can be rested.”

Coach Lachy added, “The portable goals are crucial for improving our players’ shooting skills and offensive strategies, as well as training goalkeepers. They will allow us to better manage our training sessions and protect our main fields from excessive wear.”

NZCT’s GM of Grants, Marketing, and Communications Ben Hodges adds, “It’s pleasing to be able to support the continued growth of football in Motueka. NZCT is grateful for the responsible gaming fundraising partnership we share with the Hotel Motueka that made this grant possible.
