Halswell Netball Club will be getting new uniforms with a unique design, thanks to a grant of $4,770 from NZCT.
Uniform and Equipment Coordinator Sophie Gardiner says, “We’re extremely grateful to have been provided this grant from NZCT for our new senior and junior playing strips. It will provide the basic game day gear for our members, enabling them to play the game we all love and help keep the subscriptions costs down as the club continues to grow.”
“This funding will also allow our club to be represented in a way that reflects the current and future culture of our club whilst also acknowledging our history through the new design of the playing strips. We’re very excited to have local artist Morgan Mathews-Hale founder of Kaitiaki Studios bringing our vision to life with the new playing strips, ready to take on the 2023 season.”
“It is vital that everyone has an equal opportunity to play. This financial support will allow us to keep our subscription costs as low as possible and offer discounts to those with multiple family members playing for the club"

Halswell Netball Club was established in 1934 to bring together friends and family from far and wide. Due to WWII the club was disbanded for a period, but shortly after the end of the war it was restarted by Hazel Legg. Over the years, the club has continued to evolve while striving to provide increased access to netball from juniors all the way up to seniors.
Halswell Netball Club is one of the longest standing clubs participating in the Christchurch Netball Centre competition. This year we have four junior teams and four senior teams and are eager to capture more keen netballers in 2023. Our A team returned to the Premier Grade after a successful 2021 season where they took out the title for Senior. They will be playing indoors on Saturday's at St Margaret's College.
CNC have also announced new grades for 2022 and our B and C teams will begin the season in the Challenge Grade and the rest of our senior teams in the Open Grade. These games are still playing on Saturday's at Hagley Netball Courts.
Last but not least, we have our future stars of the club in our junior teams, starting with our little ones in the ANZ Future Ferns through to all of the Age Grades. Come along, get fit, and enjoy join the fun!
