2010 KIDS BIKE JAM SERIES
This wicked kids’ mountain bike series is a world first!
Organisers’ searched the world wide web high and low, and couldn’t find any other kids national mountain bike series anywhere in the world – making the New Zealand Bike Jams yet another Kiwi world beater!
This massive kids’ mountain bike event lets kids go wild on their bikes in seven centres around New Zealand (Auckland, Rotorua, Napier, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin) from March to May each year.
The 2010 events featured some of New Zealand’s best mountain bike parks from Forrester Park in Dunedin to Woodhill in Auckland. And thousands of kids had a wicked time on the single tracks which had roots, bumps, down hills and other tricky bits thrown in for fun.
As mountain biking is as much about skill as speed there were also skills courses for kids who wanted to try out see-saws, ramps and other obstacles. And to top it off ,every kid received a medal, water bottle, reflector band and a goodies bag.
The Meridian Bike Jam series is sponsored by Meridian with sub-sponsors New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) and SPARC - Push Play.
Venues and dates for 2011 will be up on the Bike Jams website by October 2011 if not sooner!
